Zhang Chao Architectural Photography Studio was founded in 2013. It is an independent photography studio focusing on cities, architecture, interiors, landscapes and other fields. ZC focuses on the temperature of buildings. The temperature of buildings includes physical temperature, which is reflected in the impact of materials, space, scale and climate on buildings. In addition, we pay more attention to the psychological temperature that buildings give people. By observing the events that happen in the building, we capture the interaction between people and the building’s space and feel the way the building cares for people. ZC’s photos not only present rational architectural spaces, but also strive to record and spread the vivid and warm architectural places and lifestyles. At present, the studio mainly accepts photography commissions from various architectural firms in the Pearl River Delta. In the past few years, we have photographed more than 80 projects, and the works of many projects have been published in media such as ArchDaily, Dezeen and Domus. Our photography is not limited to completed works. The current status and construction process photography has become another main line of our photography. At present, we are exploring and recording the characteristics of buildings at various stages (plan, construction process, completion and use) in the southern cities of Guangzhou and Shenzhen. In the rapidly changing society, I hope to use photography to record how architecture responds to social life.
