Growing up in Toulouse, with an artistic mother who nurtured his interest in art and music at a young age, Hong Kong-based French photographer Harold de Puymorin learnt to see the world with a storyteller’s eye – always paying close attention to the varied nuances of daily life, always finding original ways to say what needs to be said. A creative and passionate adventurer, Harold has lived and travelled in many different countries, including Myanmar, where his photography career began. As a photographer-auteur, his work is immersive and emotionally evocative, often arousing a deep sense of curiosity and awe, or inspiring a contemplative mood in viewers. Over the last 12 years, Harold has worked with brands such as Louis Vuitton and Dom Perignon, internationally renowned architects and designers such as Peter Marino and Andre Fu, and magazines like Design Anthology, Elle Décor, and Frame. Highly versatile, with a keen eye for throught-provoking composition, he photographs people, interiors, events, food, fashion, and products in a way that captures their essence, or “soul”. He is also an expert at creating images for brand books, narrative event documentaries and product catalogues. Besides commercial work, Harold also makes his own photographic art, which has been exhibited in numerous art fairs in Asia. Clean, powerful, and engaging, his artistic images often awaken a sense of wonder, inviting viewers to think deeply about themselves and the world they live in.
