Designing interiors means taking everything inside of oneself, understanding it, transforming it, purifying it, and, in turn, creating and conceiving something from it. The objects, atmosphere, materials, even the light—everything must exist within oneself, in one’s private inner world before it can be seen by others and materialize in the spaces and environments that complement and inspire us and that we share with loved ones or reserve for ourselves. This is one of the most enduring ideas in Kenya Rodríguez’s vision. For her, designing is a process invariably nourished by the act of living—a process that matures and purifies our inner lives and turns them into something tangible and powerful.
