Ra!

RA! is an architecture workshop founded by Cristóbal Ramírez de Aguilar, Pedro Ramírez de Aguilar, and Santiago Sierra in 2017, based in Mexico City.
RA! understands architecture as the study and production of spaces that elicit emotions and provide shelter for human beings. This understanding leads to the classification of projects based on human relationships, including personal, interpersonal, and societal connections.
The practice of RA! is in a constant evolutionary search for design, where experimentation is an inherent process in their vision. It is through this search that new design possibilities and various tools are explored to maintain a relevant mindset.
The studio seeks an architectural proposal through questioning, investigating the environment, and utilizing multiples tools, ranging from drawing to the production of videos, models, and coordination with specialists. These practices allow them to express, explore, and communicate every detail with the aim of evoking emotions in the occupants.
RA! focuses on projects and works related to architecture, urbanism, and interventions in space. Some of their experimental projects have been exhibited in galleries and museums such as Archivo de Diseño y Arquitectura, Museo Numismático Nacional, Harvard GSD Kirkland Gallery, La Laguna, Museo de América de Madrid, among others.
RA! has received some recognitions through competitions, including the Felix Candela Award in 2019. Their works, such as “Hacienda Wabi,” “Casa LL,” “CDSJ,” and “Mirador Brisas del Marqués,” have been nominated for Best Building of the Year by Archdaily and featured in different media outlets such as Architectural Digest and the newspaper Reforma.
RA! is an expression of encouragement, enthusiasm, and inspiration.
