Vaissnavi Shukl
Vaissnavi believes in tradition, sustainability and timeless design. As the principal architect of her eponymous practice. Educated at CEPT University and Harvard University Graduate School of Design, she brings a rich mix of academic rigour and global perspective to her practice. Her formative years as an instructor at CEPT University and as a research associate at Matthew Mazzotta in New York have honed her vision for architecture as a catalyst for cultural integration and community engagement. Vaissnavi is also a fervent advocate for sustainable design, viewing sustainability as a commitment to creating enduring spaces that withstand the test of time. Her approach shuns fleeting trends in favour of timeless elegance and material resilience, ensuring that her designs resonate with both present and future generations. As technology continues to shape the architectural landscape, Vaissnavi remains steadfast in her belief that creativity should always be at the forefront of design. She envisions a future where architectural interventions, such as neighbourhood police stations, serve as communal hubs that foster dialogue and empowerment within communities. A couple of Vaissnavi’s recent significant projects are Cool Shed, a weekend retreat in Ahmedabad and Mango Blues, an entertainment pavilion, once again in Ahmedabad.
