Bajgle Etc., Poznan – Poland

Project description

A space designed with a taste for style! Inspired by bagels, blending design flavors with character.
The well-known and much-loved Poznan based bagel venue is opening its new express branch, Bajgle Etc. New location, fresh branding, different energy, vibrant colour palette. When you open the doors of the new venue on Wodna Street, you enter a place that combines design consistency with a juicy dose of humour and colour.
To unobtrusively accentuate the bagel theme, the leitmotif is round shapes based on the geometry of circles. They appear on the floors in such a way as to colourfully separate the zones and unify the difficult shape of the rooms. In addition, the arch found in the premises has been duplicated in order to make the functional division of the space more attractive and to emphasise the historic character of the building.
Before we sank into the colourful bagel frenzy, a lot of energy, experience and knowledge was consumed by the functional analysis of the premises. The aim was to optimise customer behaviour as much as possible, accommodating complete catering technology and maintaining a variety of seating areas.
We created a space where there is something for everyone: high tables with hockers, window seats, a large communal bench with movable tables that allow combining for any number of people and a seating area for the courier.
The counter, which is withdrawn into the depths, cleverly avoids the crowd and at the same time invites people into the interior. Its natural continuation is a central communal table surrounding a large natural plant. Here you can wait in peace for your takeaway, make new friends or simply enjoy the originally served bread. The adjacent shelves are full of coffees and accessories, all available at your fingertips and within sight of the staff, ready to chat about the products on offer.
Wood, used on the tables and in the main part of the bar, introduces warmth and cosiness, while the colour madness gives the interior a unique character. The colours mark the boundaries of the zones, flowing seamlessly between the planes of the floor, walls and ceilings, creating a coherent, yet unpredictable whole. The tiles from the Paradyż Neve Creative collection, designed by Maja Ganszyniec, fit perfectly into this play with colours and textures.
The end of the fairy tale adventure is the bathroom – the place where the play of colours and shapes reaches its climax. Here, the bagel mirror and unusual combinations of varied structures make even this quick visit part of a visual feast. The bathroom very quickly jumped onto the list of the most Instagrammed bathrooms according to MyTuJemy!
Welcome to the world of bagels, where maximum functionality meets artistic flair!
At Bagels Etc. everything is possible: from a quick lunch on high hockers to a lazy afternoon at a large table. This variety is provided by New School MDD chairs and hockers, Pedrali Concrete pedestals that catch the eye with their interesting concrete details and Miam hockers by Pawlak&Stawarski Loftdecora.
The visual identity of the brand is the responsibility of Łukasz Kosy A.K.A. Guru Gomez, who also created the takeaway packaging and the design of the wallpaper adorning one of the walls.
