Batman Escape, Paris – France

Project description

Take a deep breath and dive into Batman’s universe.
In collaboration with Warner Bros Discovery and DamaDreams, a French escape game company, Démodé has imagined an immersive 250 sqm lounge bar dedicated to Batman and Gotham City.
Démodé worked on a strong storytelling approach, leading customers through a scenographic journey that reveals Gotham City’s many faces.

The bar: a dive into Batman’s dual identity
Upon arrival, customers immediately notice the monumental blue marble bar, overlooked by a poetic illuminated moon.
We drew inspiration from our hero’s dual identity: luxury and Art Deco for Bruce Wayne, and darkness and intriguing symbols for Batman.
Our signature bar features a blue marble countertop and a golden skirt covered with gold copper leaves, entirely handmade. The bar is surrounded by custom-made brutalist steel and velvet stools.
On the left-hand side, facing the bar, a dimly lit seating area with a speakeasy vibe features an illuminated Dark Knight mask carved into the blue brick wall. Next to it, our custom-made Art Deco mirror clock is stopped at the fatal time when Bruce Wayne’s parents were murdered.

The street, a mix of Gotham City’s urban codes, governed by Catwoman
What we call “the Street” is the path leading visitors from one space to another. It mixes different urban and architectural styles, like Gotham City does, and is governed by the Sirens, including Catwoman, whose eyes watch us from the wall in a pop-art design.
Gothic gargoyles perch atop metal bolted beams, guiding us with neon lights in their mouths.

Last but not least… welcome to the Villains’ hideout
The further you go, the darker it gets. The journey ends with Gotham City’s villains, starting with the Joker in a metro station decor, where his laugh is captured in cages, lit by green and red neon lights.
Then, you enter the spacious and luxurious living room of an abandoned manor, with crumbling walls and climbing vegetation. At the center, an iconic black group table and red chairs serve as the gathering place for villains to plan their crimes. Ironically, the statue of Justice presides, watching over the guests from the top of a graffitied chimney. LED dimmable candles are spread throughout the space, creating a very private and immersive atmosphere.
