Elgin Cafe restaurant and bar is the pinnacle of a bistro by day with a trendy bar atmosphere by night. A clean, soft space with an inviting colour palette and an open-air feel, where you find yourself surrounded by greenery and natural wood.Once inside, customers are invited to engage with the interplay of materials and spaces they form in the café. One side forms the café area that has more of a daytime dining aesthetic while separating the private dining room through sliding folding shutters.A small entrance hall leads to the wine cellar with wine bottles integrated into the shelves next to the long fluted bar.Approaching design through locally sourced materials, the entire space reflects Udaipur green stone with fluted members. Shades of Madagascar green and pale green can be seen with contrasting salmon coloured seating. The furniture and pendant lights have been coordinated to reflect the natural cane and fabric with matte gold accents in the form of traditional electrical panels and wall lights. The ceiling forms the rest of the elemental nature of the restaurant through mouldings repeated throughout the space. Keeping the interior monochromatic ensured the integrity of the space and reduced visual noise without displacing any highlighted details. The aesthetically pleasing theme of dark green and cane work, accentuated with gold details and a pop-up wine bar, is not only functional, but also becomes a calling card for the rest of the space.
