Eurovea Food Hall, Bratislava – Slovakia

Project description

The EUROVEA Food Hall was developed in 2019 as part of the larger expansion of EUROVEA, in Bratislava, Slovakia. EUROVEA serves as a destination for modern urban dwellers seeking both practicality and individuality. The Food Hall has been thoughtfully designed to exude warmth and coziness, creating an inviting atmosphere, positioning it as one of the city’s most pleasant dining venues.
The primary goal was to transform the Food Hall from a transient “eat and go” concept to a more welcoming “eat and stay” experience. We focused on improving perception and functionality, while ensuring comfort, all while preserving the modern, trendy, and sophisticated image of EUROVEA.
With a variety of atmospheres created through diverse materials, ceilings, furniture, and lighting, the space accommodates families, solo diners, business lunches, or those simply looking to relax. Situated on the second floor, the Food Hall benefits from an expanded skylight, allowing natural light and creating distinct atmospheres from day to night.
Visitors can access the Food Hall through the original EUROVEA building, via escalators from the new main plaza, or from the parking area. Upon entering, visitors are greeted by a void extending to the basement, featuring three suspended kiosks. The Food Hall culminates in a balcony overlooking the main plaza, offering an ideal spot to view events.
The expanded Food Hall doubled its size to 3,700 m², providing 1,150 seats and 35 food outlets. The new concept incorporates an expansive, open space guaranteeing a diverse gastronomic experience, with entertainment areas featuring table football, pavement chess, and relaxing seating options. All these options are complemented by a versatile elevated area, ideal for small events or additional seating, while a quieter auditorium offers a serene space with views of the Danube River.
To bring elements of the exterior into the interior, the design introduces abundant greenery, urban art by local artists, and even a food truck.
The variety of ceiling designs further contributes to the project’s dynamic atmosphere. In some areas, the infrastructure remains exposed, while others feature lower, suspended ceilings. A range of materials, including industrial brick, ceramics, and wood, along with specific flooring delineate different zones.
A dedicated children’s area allows parents to enjoy a peaceful meal while their children play. Additionally, a communal table designed to seat more than 30 guests, make it the largest in Bratislava.
Through thoughtful design, EUROVEA’s Food Hall offers an engaging, versatile space that enhances overall visitor experience.
