Gala House, Chon Buri – Thailand

Project description

When the word “Gala House” is separated, the meaning and usage are completely different. “Gala” refers to a very formal and well-planned dinner at a proper venue where a formal dress code and dining etiquette are assumingly acceptable. It is mostly arranged at a hotel or a large and private restaurant. Meanwhile, “house” simply means a place for living with privacy and friendly vibe to residents and their visitors. When these two words (places) combine, meaning and objectives are seemingly in contrary, but they are smoothly harmonised under designing inspiration. In which, luxury comes from “Gala” and relaxation comes from “home.”
The main idea of this design began at foyer; known as a main reception area in a hotel. It is a place where people gather together, get to know each other and get familiarisation before entering the event. This area undeniably represents luxury and relaxation of the main objective of this restaurant. Fading in from outside to inside, interior design is inspired by decorating style of restaurants and hotels in Europe where it is the beginning of gala. The designers has decided to use green and tree pattern wallpaper to give cosy ambience. Once customers step inside the restaurant, they can simply feel a quote “make yourself at home” among luxury and clean decorations.
