Located in Detroit’s historic Corktown neighborhood, The Godfrey Hotel was designed to be a natural addition to the community. Everything from the repetitive nature of the windows and the murals, done by local Detroit artists, represent Corktown and celebrates its vibrant heritage. The project team took special care to understand the needs of the community through visioning sessions and surveys, which is reflected in the design. This 143,000 sf, 227 room hotel is designed to welcome travelers to this unique Detroit neighborhood while supporting those who call Corktown home. The hotel offers a ground-floor restaurant, The Hamilton, as well as a ballroom and adjoining pre-function space. On the roof, the I|O bar has a retractable roof and windows for panoramic views of Detroit.
