A warm and cozy atmosphere for a brunch in a countryside vibe
Maison Dimanche is a Parisian bakery and coffee shop, renowned for its amazing brunches. Démodé assisted the brand in the interior design of its third location: a coffee shop near their existing bakery. Maison Dimanche is all about craftsmanship, authenticity, and a cozy atmosphere.
Situated at the entrance/exit of a metro station and part of a commercial area, the challenge was to cater to various targets: workers in a hurry, residents, and families. Additionally, the unusual shape of the space required thoughtful optimization.
Traditional bakery codes reinterpreted with an optimized layout
The owner of the brand wanted to offer a cozy, countryside vibe with vintage details and decor, evoking childhood memories.
Upon entering, customers immediately notice the custom-made bench with its signature floral wallpaper and the beautiful cloud of vintage hanging lights.
To convey authenticity, we placed an old-school wooden counter at the entrance. Designed in an L shape facing the street and the metro exit, this counter attracts pedestrians by showcasing the products. Above it, we hung antique glass lights made by Madame Lampe, a Parisian upcycling store.
Our most iconic element is the wooden canopy at the back of the bakery, serving as a bridge between the front and back offices. We used oak wood and textured glass, allowing customers to glimpse the activity in the kitchen while the blurry effect maintains some mystery.
To maximize seating, we designed custom tables attached to the wall, their shapes echoing the curves of the logo, while vintage light fixtures complete the look. The other tables are classic bistro tables, but with a twist: they feature white metal legs instead of the traditional black.
Finally, we incorporated vintage-style aged mirrors as menu boards, fixed on a signature old pink wall.
