The redesign of the Soft Touch ice cream stores, a traditional and emblematic brand in Medellín, was entrusted to PLASMA NODO by its owners with the aim of deeply renewing its points of sale without losing the historical essence of the brand.
Our first step was to dive back into the stores, many of us being loyal customers for years and maintaining an emotional connection to the brand. After visiting several points of sale in the city, speaking with customers, employees and owners, we began an investigation of shapes, colors, textures and languages based on the product and what the brand represented to those who knew it.
We created a fresh and risky new color palette, with contrasting tones that formed an essential part of the interior design, evoking old ice cream parlors with a contemporary touch. Our intervention covered architecture, interior design, flows and circulations, distribution of services, furniture and some graphic pieces, all in collaboration with the client.
The prototype store, approximately 85m2 and located in a recognized shopping center, stands out for its service bar, kitchen for prepared dishes, and indoor and outdoor table areas. After the initial success, we adapted this new model to a store in the Laureles neighborhood and planned new openings, renovations of existing stores and other brand expansion projects.
