Trastevere is an Italian restaurant operated by the Hunan Group, located in Lomas de Chapultepec, characterized as one of the most exclusive residential and commercial neighborhoods in Mexico City, where many high-end gastronomy restaurants have begun to emerge.
The project focuses on designing a space that evokes the Mediterranean while infusing a contemporary twist. The design elegantly blends neutral tones, evoking the relaxing essence of coastal life. Walls adorned with classic patterns exude elegance and sophistication, while the use of natural textures adds warmth to the space.
The restaurant features an outdoor terrace and an interior space that seamlessly integrate with each other, differentiated by the flooring – stone outside and carpet inside. The furnishings mirror the interior’s elegance with a touch of rustic charm, effortlessly connecting the indoor and outdoor spaces.
The interior space is encompassed by tall wine bottle shelves, highlighting the neutrality while providing a welcoming embrace. The centerpiece of the dining area is a modern art painting by K de Kilo, capturing attention with its colorful accents and harmonious contrast against the serene palette enveloping the environment.
The restaurant’s exterior is surrounded by a subtle vegetal barrier that contains and protects the terrace from the public space of the street, offering privacy without complete separation. The terrace captures the essence of a Mediterranean square, providing an alfresco experience to enjoy meals under the open sky and the city’s energy.
The open kitchen concept integrates diners with the culinary process, allowing them to relate to the space through the aromas of the ingredients, becoming an integral part of the experience.
Exterior booths contribute to containing and privatizing the diners’ space, incorporating elements like coastal rugs and umbrellas that soften the outdoor ambiance, rendering it cozier and more comfortable for patrons.
The restaurant stands as a tranquil haven, where modernity and Mediterranean charm converge.
