Tribes, Boksburg – South Africa

Tribes is a steakhouse that honours African culture and community. To provide an authentic atmosphere we used materials that are connected to the land- materials that are typically found in traditional african villages.
The unique materials in discussion are rammed earth, native timber gumpoles, rusted steel, dried straw, antelope hide and a rough plaster.
To celebrate its people we added a bush painting inspired mural on a few feature walls. All feature lighting has been hand made from the ceramic bead chandelier to the hand woven rope detailing.
The space is experiential and provides a timeless African experience.
Rich, textural and generous. The space tells a story from our glittering coastlines to the sun-baked Karoo, Tribes is inspired by Africa. A celebration of its people and its food.
