Valentina Bakery is an artisan bakery and pastry shop whose motto is to create “real moments” for its diners through high-quality gastronomic products. The design premise was to create a space influenced by the style of a New York bakery and the delicacy of French gastronomy, situated in the lush and tropical context of Medellín.
For the functional development, we aimed to create microenvironments for attention and permanence, organized by a central circulation that defines each experiential zone. The changes in materials and textures, invites you to experience a unique sensation in each space when sitting around the table.
The service counter is the main organizer of the space. Decorated with a rustic brick background and accentuated by the use of indirect lights, it creates a warm and urban environment reminiscent of the New York style. On the opposite side, we implemented moldings and light colors, with golden accents and checkered floors, as well as classic and elegant elements characteristic of French pastry.
In the background, a couple of additional tables are surrounded by a tropical garden that integrates the local context into the project and achieves the symbiosis between the city’s nature and the urban environment. To highlight the femininity of the brand, the flagship element that covers the space emerges as a suspended installation of hand-cut pieces that evoke the natural delicacy of the welcoming city.
Finally, as an extension process towards the circulation area of the shopping center, an additional outdoor seating area is created that extends its services and invites customers to enter the bakery.
